ARRANGEMENTS FOR EMERGENCIES
WHEN THE SURGERY IS CLOSED
An urgent care service is
available for patients who need
help when the surgery is closed.
The service is based at the
Urgent Care Centre at Shotley
Bridge Hospital. There is always a doctor
on call when the surgery is
closed.
If you need urgent help or
advice when the surgery is
closed you can contact the
out-of-hours service by calling
111.
You will be given advice over
the telephone or asked to attend
the centre to see one of the
nurse practitioners or a doctor.
If you are too ill to travel one
of the team will visit you at
home. On Thursday afternoons when the surgery is closed from 12.30pm - 6.00pm, urgent calls are taken by the doctor on call at Dipton Surgery. We
provide a reciprocal service on
Wednesday afternoons.
The normal out of hours service
operates from 6.00pm.
